MEETING | Minutes

Attendance:  Andrew Glickson, Sheldon Miller, Attorney Simon Sumberg, Louis Schulman

The meeting was called to order at 8:04 A.M.

Mr. Sumberg and Mr. Schulman explained the situation with Waters Construction. On Mr. Sumberg’s advice, and with the concurrence of the staff, the District will not agree to Arbitration. Mr. Schulman also reported a few of the cameras at the hub will be repaired later this week.

Mr. Schulman reported on the District’s meeting with the Westport Board of Finance on February 15^th.

Mr. Schulman said that the District has gone out to bid on the new telephone system. A mandatory meeting for bidders was held on Tuesday, February 21^st.

Mr. Schulman indicated that the District has made progress with regard to its legislative agenda. A conference call was held with ConnDOT personnel and members of Transit for Connecticut on Wednesday, February 22^nd. During the meeting ConnDOT staff agreed to reduce the number of silos by as many as four. Mr. Schulman described this as very good progress.

The Commissioners reviewed the expense and revenue statement for the period through January 30^th. With State budgets in place, the staff is suggesting that, without unexpected fiscal surprises, the District should end the year in the black.

Mr. Schulman said that one mechanic is going on a family and medical leave, and another is retiring at the end of June. The District is looking to replace the “A” mechanic with a working foreman to cover the evening shift.
