If you are new to the Norwalk Transit District’s services here is a brief description of the services we provide.
Fixed route public bus service in Norwalk.The system in Norwalk is called WHEELS. Norwalk’s WHEELS service operates on a pulse system, where one bus from each route meets at the pulse point, Burnell Boulevard, for a free and immediate transfer. All regional services including the Coastal Link, 7 Link, and CT Transit's Route 41 also meet at the pulse point.
Evening and Sunday shuttles in Norwalk that serve South Norwalk, Main Ave and the Connecticut Avenue corridor, all in Norwalk.
The Coastal Link provided with our partners at the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority and Milford Transit District. The service operates along the Route 1 corridor from Norwalk to Milford. It travels through Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford and Milford. The service operates 365 days a year.
The 7 Link operated with our partner in Danbury, Housatonic Area Regional Transit (HART). The service operates along Route 7 through Norwalk, Wilton, Ridgefield, and Danbury, on weekdays only.
Route 41 is a service operated by CT Transit. It runs on the Post Road between Norwalk and Stamford.
Commuter Shuttles from the South Norwalk, and Greenwich railroad stations to employment areas in those communities.
Westport fixed route public bus services includes daytime service between the Saugatuck station Westport center, and after school services.
Westport commuter services include shuttles that take people to employment sites from the Saugatuck station and a residential service that takes people from their homes to the Saugatuck and Greens Farms stations for commutation by train.
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) services are door-to-door services for persons with disabilities. We operate these services in Norwalk, Westport, part of Darien, Stamford and part of Greenwich. We provide other door-to-door services for the elderly in Westport and Stamford.
TOWN-TO-TOWN is door-to-door service that crosses town borders for residents of Norwalk, Westport, New Canaan and Wilton
